Shahid was born to critically acclaimed actor Pankaj
Kapoor and actress/classical dancer Neelima Azim. His
parents divorced when he was three and he mostly lived
with his mother. When he was 18, he accidently landed the
commercial for Pepsi which starred Shahrukh Khan, Kajol
and Rani Mukherjee. He also starred in a music video for
the band Aryans and met his college sweetheart Hrishita
Bhatt, who also appeared in the video. He is a trained
dancer, and recieved his training from famed dancer,
Shiamak Davar. After working as an extra here and there,
Shahid finally landed a leading role in Ken Ghosh's Ishq
Vishk. The film also starred Amrita Rao and MTV VJ Shenaz
Treasurywala. Shahid recieved many accolades for his
refreshing performance in the candy floss romantic flick.
He also gained a growing fan base, which included
Bollywood babe Kareena Kapoor. The couple also starred in
a thriller, Fida, which bombed at the box office.
