Symptoms & Signs
Sore throat or painful throat is very
common ailment. A sore throat may be
caused by a variety of inflammations
of the larynx, pharynx (pharyngitis),
or tonsils. Among these inflammation
of the pharynx is the most common form
of sore throat and is usually occurs
due to virus infection. Some of the
common causes of sore throat are virus
infection, dryness of throat due to
breathing through mouth, cough, runny
nose, etc. In severe cases it can be
indication for major health ailment
such as throat cancer or AIDS.
Symptoms of sore throat include pain
or irritation in throat, swelling,
hoarseness, etc. In acute cases these
symptoms may be accompanied by fevers,
