Acacia is a genus of shrubs and trees of
Gondwanian origin belonging to the Subfamily
Mimosoideae of the Pea Family (Family Fabaceae),
first described from Africa by Linnaeus in
1773.
Acacia arabica or Babool has been used in
traditional herbal healing as either an
astringent or an antidiarrheal. The main
extracts from the plant that are used for
medicines are Tennic Acid, Arabic Acid,
