Fall of hair is quite common and natural too. On an average a healthy person loose about 50-100 hair everyday while combing or bathing. This could be natural tendency of the body. But loosing too many hairs even when sitting, sleeping or performing daily routine is labeled as alopecia.There are many types of alopecia (baldness or hair loss), each with a different cause. Alopecia may be localized to the front and top of the head as in common male pattern baldness. It may be patchy as in a condition called alopecia areata. Or it can involve the entire head as 

in alopecia capitis totalis. Although the exact causes of baldness are unknown, heredity, hormones and age are contributing factors. Unlike hair loss resulting from disease or other non-hereditary factors, hair loss due to common baldness is permanent. Indicative symptoms of baldness include moving of hairline backwards, excessive fall of hair during comb or bathing, hair easily comes out from the head even with plucking, one can find abandon quantity of hairs on blanket, pillow and bed sheets. To prevent hair loss nutritious diet and good hair care is required.
