Loss of appetite or anorexia is known as
Arochakam in Ayurveda. Arochakam is a state in
which person develop dislike for food, though
he/she may feel hungry. Arochakam or anorexia
can be caused by a variety of conditions and
diseases. |

Some of the conditions can be
temporary like fever or certain
medication, etc. and such
condition corrected itself as the
primary disease treated or the
patient stop use of particular
medicines. But some of the
conditions can be of more serious
nature, such as from the effects
of underlying cancer or other
serious disease. In a general
state it is advisable to give the
patient any food he likes, be it
even a little less nutritious. In
the case of persisting loss of
appetite one should essentially
