Till mid of 1990 the supply of Peridot was limited in the
international Market due to lesser availability. But
in the middle of 1990 big deposits was found in Kashmir.
However the deposits laying in Kashmir are at a height
of around 4000-meter so the excavation is still under
the difficult climatic conditions. Mining is done only in
summer months and than these stones are brought into
the valley. However the crystals are so rich that current
demand of Peridots could easily be satisfied. These stones
are also famous as Kashmir Peridots – which are
also known for the finest Qualities among the Peridots.
However Peridots are also available in Myanmar, China, the
USA, Africa and Australia. Peridot is also available
in Arizona which is used very popularly in the American
