Tourmalines are gems that offer a variety of colours. As an ancient Egyptian legend states that on a long journey from the centre of the Earth this stone passed through a rainbow and thus absorbed all the colours. Even in today’s time the Gemstones of Tourmaline are referred as Rainbow Gemstones.The name tourmaline originated from the Singhalese that is 'tura mali'. If literally translated this would mean a stone with a mixture of colours. Tourmaline Gemstones are available from red to green and from blue to yellow.
