FAQ

What are the Gem Paintings ?
Gem Painting is a unique art indigenous to Rajasthan. These painting are carefully crafted by skilled artists using semi-precious Gemstones powders. Different stones are used for providing colors to these paintings. Raw gemstones are first grinded into various sizes and shapes. The size and the shapes of these grinded stones are then placed on a board by hand to create color variations similar to brush strokes that an oil painting artist might use. The gemstones used in these paintings are purely natural.

What stones are used in the making of a Gem Painting ?
Various stones are used according to the colors of the painting, including:

  1. Onyx
  2. Zicron

  6. Peridat
  7. Jade
  8. Tourmaline
  9. Diopside
  10. Fibrolite
  11. Ruby
  12. Spinel
  13. Garnet
  14. Feldspar
  15. Otrine
  16. Ferro-calcite
  17. Quartz
