Spoken primarily in the south Indian state of Karnataka, it is
the 27th most spoken language in the world. It has about 35
million native speakers. It is one of the Official languages of
India and the official and administrative language of the state
of Karnataka. It is also spoken in the neighbouring states of
Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Goa.
Sizeable communities in the USA, the UK, and Singapore also
speak Kannada. |
